[FONT="]Considerando lo spirito olimpionico, gli alloggi durante le olimpiadi costano decisamente troppo. Noi però abbiamo deciso di offrire dei posti letto e dare il 100% del nostro guadagno a persone che ne hanno bisogno. Più di chiunque altro è la gente di Haiti che in questo momento necessita di aiuto. Invece di farvi pagare l’alloggio a noi, vi offriamo un posto per dormire se fate una donazione a Shelterbox. Si tratta di un’organizzazione di beneficenza che offre un tetto alle vittime dopo disastri come quello di Haiti e noi vorremo raccogliere abbastanza soldi da riuscire a mandare almeno una casetta a Haiti – vedi www.whelterbox.ca. [FONT="]Nella nostra casa abitano 3 ragazzi e una ragazza che si considerano ancora giovani (fine 20, inizio dei 30). Due di noi lavorano dalle 8 alle 16 e due dalle 10 alle 20. La casa si trova all’angolo di Main Street con la 16ima, solo 20 isolati (blocks) dal villaggio olimpionico e 10 dal principale movimento durante l’evento.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Sarete dei couch/floor surfers (divano/pavimento) che dormono in soggiorno con 4-5 persone come voi. Avrete bisogno di un sacco a pelo e forse un materassino da campeggio. Avrete pieno accesso alla cucina, il bagno e la lavanderia e possiamo darvi tutte le informazioni per quanto riguarda ristoranti, baretti ecc.. Si tratta di una soluzione ideale per un couch surfer![/FONT]
[FONT="]Dopo un po’ di discussione abbiamo deciso che la donazione minima sarà di 30$ per persona per notte. Si tratta di un minimo: ovviamente, se volete fare una donazione maggiore vi metteremo ai primi posti della lista e naturalmente sopra un divano! Il 100% dei soldi che spenderete andrà alla gente di Haiti.[/FONT]

True to the Olympic Spirit we are going to ask way too much for accommodation during the Olympics. Not so true to that spirit, however, we are giving 100% of that exorbitant fee to people who need it.
More than any of us, people in Haiti need a home right now and we want to help. Rather than charge you to stay in our house during the Olympics we will give you a place to stay if you make a donation. Shelterbox is a charity providing temporary shelter for disaster victims and we want to raise enough money to send at least one box to Haiti. See www.shelterbox.ca. We chose this charity after hearing its spokesperson on the radio: http://podcast.cbc.ca/mp3/bcalmanac_20100114_25851.mp3. If you are interested send us an email and we will explain more about the arrangements to pay.
There are 3 guys and 1 girl in the house and we like to think we are still young (late 20s and early 30s). Two of us work 8-4 and two of us work 10-8. The house is located near the corner of Main and 16th which is only about 20 blocks to the athlete’s village and 10 blocks to the excitement at the curling venue.
You are going to be a floor / couch surfer sleeping in our living room with 4-5 others like you.
You will need a sleeping bag and perhaps a sleeping mat.
You will have full access to our kitchen and washroom and laundry and we can give you all kinds of info on restaurants and bars in the area.
Its an ideal arrangement for the couch surfer crowd.
After a bit of a debate we decided a minimum donation of $30 per person per night was appropriate. That’s a minimum: if you want to make a larger donation we will put you at the front of the line and on top of a couch for sure. 100% of that money is going to help in Haiti.
